Serviced Apartments

Modern business travellers who are used to staying in hotels in london and in other major cities will all tell you that staying away from home is not the glamourous lifestyle that some believe it is. In fact far from it.

So what are the irritations of staying in a hotel and what alternatives are available?

The irritations are numerous depending on the individual's perceptions and what they are accustomed to. For any stays longer than a few days, it becomes rather depressing to stay in a room with a bed in it, and not much else. We've all been there - the walls start to close in and you get tired of lying down to watch the TV. Speaking of the TV, why can't hotels provide you with a decent selection of channels? One of life's mysteries. Other annoyances include the constant tipping, small talk with the staff, expense of food and drinks and the inability to control the temperature in the rooms. So what are the alternatives? Well the option that immediately springs to mind is serviced apartments. For a start, you can't fault the concept, why settle for a hotel room when you can stay in an apartment? You can enjoy having your own Kitchen, which enables you to cook what you want and when you want. You can do work in the lounge and retire to an uncluttered bedroom for a great nights sleep.

Kim Gospeth, an investment banker from Dallas, recently stayed in several Bristol apartments whilst on a business trip consulting with clients. Kim had this to say about her experience; "I'm simply addicted to serviced apartments now, one of the best benefits for me is the ability to entertain clients in the flat itself, I've saved a fortune in meeting venue bills".

Having recently stayed at the Strand Palace hotel for a 2 week period, John Hendry, a semi-retired businessman found himself getting very tired of eating the same food for breakfast every morning. "I was longing for an american style breakfast, and if I was staying in my usual serviced apartment, I could eat whatever I wanted whenever I wanted it". Dan Cruickshank, an IT consultant with one of London's biggest IT firms, regularly stays in London serviced apartments when the client requires him to stay near to their office. He enjoys the space more than anything, saying; "space is a premium in London, and serviced apartments allow me more space than in my own home - that's a real luxury to me. I can stay in a flat worth over Ј1m and for a few weeks, its all mine".

Locations are abundant these days. Once the preserve of London only, today you will find serviced apartments in Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester, Reading, Newcastle, Belfast, Milton Keynes, to name a few. Aberdeen apartments have sprung up due to the rise of the oil and gas industry which is located off the shore of Aberdeen. And in Ireland, Belfast apartments are enjoying massive growth. If you are staying in London and you want close proximity to the city, try Tower Bridge Road apartments, a new development featuring an impressive design and comprising two separate buildings containing modern, fully furnished apartments.

Wherever you decide to stay consider a serviced apartment instead of a hotel. Once you've tried it you might never stay in a hotel again.
