The village of Golyanovtsi (Sofia district) is located in South-West Bulgaria and is included in municipality Kostinbrod. It is situated in the North-West part of Sofia`s field, 15 km away from city of Sofia and 2 km away from the town of Kostinbrod. There is regular bus transport (mini bus No 5) from Sofia to Golyanovtsi with route: Golyanovtsi , Jiten, Dobroslavtsi, Mramor, Sofia (Central railway station)... The oldest information about the village can be found in Turkish records from XV century where the village was under the name Golyanovche. One of the legends for the name is that it comes from "Goli vrah" (Bear peak) located to the North of the village. Several families came down from it and settled on the territory of the today’s village. Landmarks: St. Iliya Church (built in 1937)
