The church St. Archangel Michael, village of Kostenets, Sofia District

The village of Kostenets is situated in the eastern part of Rila Mountain, about 7 km south of the town of Kostenets, 35 km east of the winter resort of Borovets, and 82 km southeast of Sofia. The village is not an administrative centre (center of Municiplaity is town of Kostenets).
The availability of mineral springs determines the development of the village as a spa resort. The temperature of the hypothermic mineral waters of the village of Kostenets is 46 – 73oC. They contain sulphates, hydrocarbonates, fluorine, sodium and radon. The debit of the waters is 12 liters per second. The influence of the mineral waters is especially favourable for дiseases of the locomotory system, гynecological diseases, дiseases of the nervous system. In the immediate proximity of the village are the spa resort of Villas Kostenets and the beautiful Kostentski Waterfall.
Places of interest there are the church “St. Archangel Michael” and the chapel “The Assumption”, which have historical and cultural value.
