It is very easy to access from Sofia (no more than an hour by virtually direct road) and it is on the airport side of the city. The village is also just off the main road to Ihtiman town and to Kostenets town. Gorna Vassilitsa is very peaceful and is for those wishing to take a break from busy and modern life. There are no bars and restaurants and is ideal place for relax. The village also has a small monastery that was built in the 19th century and recently renovated. Although no monks live there anymore, the Gorna Vasilitsa monastery is still visited by tourists and locals for worship.
