The village of Ribnovo (Blagoevgrad District) is located in The Rhodope mountain and is included in Municipality Gurmen. The charm of the village is in the age-old pine woods, spacious high mountain plateaus, picturesque meadows, potatoes and tobacco fields, ice-cold mountain sources, endless range of Rodopa picks. The high mountain meadows are covered with wild fruits- strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and mushrooms in the summer. The life in the village of Ribnovo is severe but original. The inhabitants are Bulgarian-speaking Muslims, sometimes referred to as "Pomaks. The Pomak Muslims are dwelling mainly in the Rhodope Mountains of South Bulgaria and North Greece.
