The village of Osikovo (Blagoevgrad District) is located in South-West Bulgaria and is part of Municipality Gurmen. It is a small remote village situated on the westernmost ridge of the The Rhodopes mountains, between the Rila and The Phodopes mountains with views over to Pirin mountain. The village is surrounded by thick pine forests. Like neighbour village of Ribnovo and other small villages in the region, Osikovo is also predominately inhabited by Pomaks- Bulgarian Muslims. An easy going and very friendly people, the Pomaks are traditionally found in this region of the Rhodopes mountains. The village is predominantly historic, with traditional Bulgarian style houses lining its main street.
