The village of Aheloy (Bourgass district) is situated on the motorway Bourgas- Nessebar just 3km. from Ravda and 6km. from Sunny Beach and Nessebur near the mouth of the Aheloy River. Aheloy have rich history - in the vicinity of Aheloy the Bulgarian Tsar Simeon I destroyed the armies of the Byzantine emperor Lion Foka. The field of the landmark battle, which made the Bulgarian state the uncontestable dominion of the Balkan peninsula, is called nowadays Kokalos after the scattered corpses of killed soldiers. Aheloy is also famous for its beautiful fruit gardens and vine yards and is a unique mixture of still preserved green sites, calm and pleasant sea and 56 thousand square meters sandy beaches.
