The town of Radnevo (Stara Zagora District) is located in the eastern part of the Gornotrakiiska valley (South-Central Bulgaria) and is center of Radnevo Municipality (23 settlements). It lies at a distance of 32 km southeast of the district center town of Stara Zagora. Until 1906 the settlement has been known under the name of Radne Mahale. In 1964 it is proclaimed for a town. The first settlements, set up within the town’s current limits, are dated back to 4000 years in the past. On the territory of the Municipality of Radnevo have been discovered 275 archaeological monuments of which 92 settlements, 5 settlement mounds, 114 burial mounds and 4 fortresses and remains of Roman road station of Arzus.
