The Parvomai Municipality is situated in South-Central Bulgaria (Plovdiv district) and occupies the easternmost part of the Plovdiv - Pazadjik Plain and the northern slopes of the Rhodopes Mountain. The E 80 first-class road, the Western Europe - Istanbul railroad, and the Asenovgrad - Chirpan third-class road pass through the territory of the Municipality. The agriculture and especially the vegetable-growing are of the greatest importance for the region of Purvomay. It is one of the biggest producers of tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and egg-plants. 180,000 sq. m of glazed greenhouses were built.
