The village of Muldava (Plovdiv District) is located in South-Central Bulgaria and belongs to the Municipality Asenovgrad. It is situated 25km from city of Plovdiv, 150km from capital city of Sofia, 6km from town of Asenovgrad and 66km from the ski resort Pamporovo. Near the village there were excavated the entire remains of an ancient settlement, which was an ancient Thracian Cult Center. The Cult Center is the oldest spiritual hearth of civilization known not only in Bulgaria but even in all of Europe. It is noteworthy that the stem "mulda" in the name of today’s village meant a fortified sanctuary in the Thracian language. There were castles and sanctuaries in this area since time immemorial. For example, there is a third still unresearched prehistoric site near Muldava that is a Roman sanctuary built on the location of the oldest Cult center with its castle, monastery, and the like.
