The village of Popintsi (Pazardjik district) is located in South-Central Bulgaria and is included in municipality Panagyurishte. It is situated on both banks of the river Luda Yana at the foot of a Sashtinska Sredna Gora mountain, at 27 kilometers from the district center - town of Pazardzhik and 16 kilometers from the municipal center - town of Panagyurishte. The area is crossed by two rivers and around 10-12 gullies. Тhere are 4 dams with a total area of 11 ha. Sights: The settlement dates back to BC - from the Thracian times. The evidence of this are number of archaeological findings in the areas of Popinsko Kale, Obrochishte, Saint Nicholas, St. Petka, Gospodova church, Borova hill and Tsonina chukara. There were found over 25 funeral mounds, votive tablet of Thracian leader Heros, coins, implements, ceramic products. Near the historic fortress Gradishteto there are remnants of the church chapel. The present church was built in 1848g.
