The town of Vratsa is located in Nort-West Bulgaria at the distance of 112 km. north of Sofia, at about 40 km. southeast of Montana, and at 14 km. northwest of Mezdra. The town is settled in the foot of Vratsa Mountain. Vratsa is administrative center of municipality and district with same names. It is a starting point for the routes to Vratsata gorge and Ledenika cave. The Nature Park Vrachanski Balkan, situated near town, offers great opportunities for on-foot tourism. The area has very diverse and attractive natural features, which together with the recreation opportunities gives the special charm of the Eastern part of the Northwest Bulgaria.
