The name of the village Strupets is since ancient times and is unchanged throughout the entire village existence. It origins from the name of the ruler of the Roman fortress Vinograd and name of the top of the Strupeshka mound - "Strupen".
Landmarks: - Approximately 4.5 km west of the village Strupets is located the Strupeshki (Tarjishki) Monastery of the Holy Prophet Elijah. - The River "Small Iskar", which is very convenient for fishing or just for relaxation, - Strupeshka mound, where visitors can see traces from a Roman fortresses. - There are many legends for Thracian treasures buried in the region or hidden in caves and underground entrances.
