The town of Roman (Vratsa District) is located in North-West Bulgaria and is center of the Roman Municipality. It is situated 45.13 km. east of the regional center Vratsa and 90 km north-east from the capital Sofia. Neighbour villages are Strupets and Hubavene. Through the town passes Iskar River which is suitable for fishing.

The town is known for the big steel factory, wit capacity for producing more than 100,000 tons of steel per year. Roman is also a railway station along the Sofia-Varna railway

Sightseeing: The region has many archaeological sites - border stone from Roman times, Villa Rustica, the Roman fortress "Kriv grad", a lookout tower on the hill near Strupets village, dating from the First Bulgarian Kingdom, and more
