The village of Varbeshnitsa (Vratsa district) is located in North-Western Bulgaria and is part from municipality Mezdra. It is distanced 7.86 km. north of the municipal center Mezdra. Neighboring villages are Gorna Kremena, Krapets and Kostelevo. Along the village is situated Varbeshnitsa dam which is suitable for fishing.
History: The Italians Francesco Krasini and Polly Louisa (from the village of Sant Ambrodzhino near Verona), Antonio Chedulini (from Clauzeto) and Francesco Sanketa (from the village Vicenza in the Alps) developed the first quarry in the Dedov Dol locality near the village of Varbeshnitsa. After several years in the village came also two Bulgarian stonemasons from Korchansko (now in Albania) - Spiro Lazarov Spirov and Lazar Spirov. In the following years many locals begin to deal with stonework and in early XX-th century the village has already 72 people practicing this craft.
