History: The old name of the village is Dzhurilovo. Dzhurilovo is a medieval old-Bulgarian settlement, which was part of the territory of the Tatar village Sovat that was existed from 1865 to 1877 The village was renamed by decree No 3 of 11.01. 1950 of Nivyanin. This is poetic alias of the partisan Ivan Nedkov who is from the same village.
