History: In its present borders the village dates from the end of XIV century. Remains of the prehistoric Bronze Age settlement are found on the left bank of the "Dolna bara" river. Also, there were found great finds of Thracian settlement during the Iron Age, which lasted existed also in the late Roman era. Proof of this is the open vaulted pottery full of baked clay vessels, handled at the end of IV century
The name of the village is given by the great Bulgarian revolutionary Hristo Botev. When in May 1876 he headed to the mountains passing through the village of Dobrolevo (then named Batsikovo) lots of men from the village joined to his detachment. Then Botev said: From these people I have seen "dobro" (good) and so named the village Dobrolevo.
