The village of Gradets (Vidin district) is located in North-West Bulgaria and is included in municipality Vidin. It is one of the biggest in the municipality. Gradets is situated 12 km northwest of the district center town of Vidin, in the valley of Topolovets river, which springs from the most western part of the Stara Planina (Vrashka Chuka).
First name of the village is Urumlar (information about it dating back to XV century), after it was known as Gartsi and in 1984 it received the current name Gradec.
