Place Info: Republic of Bulgaria >> North-Western region >> Vidin district >> Chuprene municipality >> Village of Replyana Village of Replyana The village of Replyana (Vidin District) is located in North-West Bulgaria in the foots of Stara Planina mountain between the villages of Dolni Lom and Chuprene. It is included in Municipality Chuprene. It is situated 6.46 km. east of the municipal center village of Chuprene. Adjacent to the village Replyana are villages Dolni Lom, Targovishte and Gorni Lom. On both sides of the village crossing the rivers - Chuprenska and Lom suitable for recreation and fishing. History: there is an information the village was inhabited before about 330-350 years. Settlers were from Pirot District- villages of Cherni Vrah, Ravno-Buchie, Chervena Yabulka, Shigrin, Aldena-Reka, Gabrovnitsa. The first settlers came from Cherni Vrah. Locality settlement was very bleak (in Bulgarian "Pust"), so they named the area "Pustishko Zagore". In autumn when interrupted grazing their flocks, they are brought home in their own villages in neighboring Serbia and in spring they returned again. Some of them decided that the area is perfect for living and they were created the first hamlet (called Parvinska (first = parvi) neighborhood. The rocks that surround the village called "repove" and hence the name of the village Replyana. Sightseeing: - There is a protected tree "Tser", aged 300 years., 17 m. in height and trunk circumference of 4.3 m. - The Glami - The south-Western side of the village is covered with forests and pastures, and north is enclosed by high rocky peaks called "Glami". - In the area of "Glamite" there was an old settlement, as evidenced by cemetery in the area of Cross. - In the land of the village there are remains of three monasteries. Until today this region is called Manastirishte (Manastir = Monastery) locality. - Caves near the village Replyana: Tatar cave - 98 m length, inclination 20;.
