The Sitovo Municipality is situated in the northwestern part of Silistra District (North-East Bulgaria). To the east it borders Silistra Municipality, to the south - Doulovo Municipality, to the west - Glavinitsa Municipality, and to the north it reaches the Danube. The center of the Municipality is Sitovo village. The population of the Municipality is mixed - Bulgarians, Turks, Tatars and Roma. Out of the total territory the arable land is 172 sq. km, and forests are 28.5 sq. km; water areas (dam lakes) are 53.2 sq. km. The climate is moderate continental. An upstream sector in municipal economy is agriculture; 26 agricultural entities operate in this sector. The Municipality Sitovo is a traditional producer of grains. The largest are the areas planted with wheat, followed by those planted with barley.
