The Kaynardja municipality is located in North-East Bulgaria in Silistra District. The Municipality consists of 15 villages with regional center village of Kainardja (at distance about 29 km from town of Silistra). The Municipality is in the eastern part of the Danubian Plain. To the north it borders on Romania. Agriculture is traditional in the Municipality. The arable land is 231 sq. km. The traditionally grown crops are wheat and corn, as well as some industrial crops, such as sunflower seeds and tobacco. Place of interest in Kainardzha municiaplity are the river beds of two dried-out rivers, the Kanagyol and the Souha Reka, that are still existent. There are interesting sections of them near the villages of Strelkovo and Voynovo, which are typical canyons at some places. Thracian sanctuaries with rock temples, cult ritual niches, ritual pits and grounds located on about 3 km along the medium course of the river near Pop Roussanovo and Strelkovo villages have been found.
