Village of Mechka, Ruse

The village of Mechka (Rousse District) is located in North-Central Bulgaria and is included in Municipality Ivanovo. It is situated 22km North-West from city of Russe near the Danube river. In I century there was built Roman castle "Ursus" (in Bulgarian - Mechka) known later as fortress "Tramamium". Remains from the fortress are found West from the area of Stulpishte.
