The Pordim Municipality is situated in the central part of Northern Bulgaria in Pleven District. The territory of the Municipality is crossed by the railway line Sofia - Varna, the first-class road Sofia - Rousse, and by the third-class roads Pleven - Letnitsa and Slavyanovo - Lovech. It is at a distance of 20 km from the district center city of Pleven and 198 km from Sofia. At a distance of 5 km to the south of the town Pordim is located Valchetran village, in the land of which the Valchetran golden treasure has been found; this treasure is the most remarkable monument of the late-bronze age in Bulgaria, 13 - 12 c. BC Because Pordim is located not far from Pleven hence it is easily accessible to tourists. There are good conditions for rural tourism in the villages.
